CHENNAI, AKU DATANG LAGI!!! (5-2)

Hari kesembilan (Pagi Ahad, 11hb Ogos 2013)

Ok lah, jom layan gambar...

Insaf...

Statue Circle Jaipur - Situated in the middle of a busy intersecting road of the pink city, Statue Circle is reminiscent of the rich history of Jaipur. It was built as a tribute to Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of the city. Statue Circle perhaps got its name from the statue that it comprises of and also the spot at which statue is located. It attracts a large number of foreign tourists as well as the locals. The tourists come to see this place for its historic significance and to get a glimpse of the statue of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.

Kami dibawa ke hotel penginapan iaitu Hotel Park Prime. Cantik dan selesa hotel ini.

Misai melenting tu!!!

Selepas check-in di hotel, kami pun dibawa bersiar-siar di kawasan bandar Jaipur.

Terpaksa menunggu keretapi lalu.

Jaipur Railway Station (Jaipur Junction - JP) is the largest of all railway stations in Jaipur. Jaipur also serves as the headquarters of the North Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways since 2002.[1] The Jaipur Division of the North Western Railway is also headquartered at Jaipur.

Jaipur is called the Pink City because at the time, architecture of the town was very advanced and certainly the best in Indian Subcontinent. In 1853, when the Prince of Wales visited Jaipur, the whole city was painted pink to welcome him during the regime of Sawai Ram Singh. Today, avenues remain painted in pink, provide a distinctive appearance to the city. (wikipedia answer)

Kami dibawa melawat Jantar Mantar. Hujan sudah mula turun renyai-renyai. Dah sampai sini, redah ajelah...

The name is derived from jantar ("instrument"), and mantar ("formula", or in this context "calculation"). Therefore jantar mantar means literally 'calculation instrument'. This observatory has religious significance, since ancient Indian astronomers were also Jyotisa masters. (baca seterusnya di wikipedia)

Yantra Raj - It is a circular masonry disc of 7 alloys, so that it remains of the same size by change of weather. The hole in the center of the instrument is the position of the Pole Star. The latitude of Jaipur is 27 degree. The outer circle is graduated in 24 hours of 6 fractions each. The inner circle has 360 degrees, each of 6 sub-divisions. The most important planets are marked in outer circle at their corresponding position in the sky.By placing a separate disc in the hole (which is graduated from 0 degree to 180 degree), of instrument, we can calculate the positions of various planets and dividing by time interval, the speed of rotation of a particular planet is calculated and this way the dates of Sun & Moon eclipses as well as the Sun-set, Sun-rise, Moon set etc. are calculated.

Nadivalya yantra - Narivalaya (Nadivalya) Yantra is an equatorial sundial. There are two dials, one facing north and the other facing south, both parallel to the equatorial plane. When the sun is in the northern hemisphere, between the March equinox and the September equinox, the dial facing north gets sunlight. There is a slot in the center of the dial where a small rod (gnomon) is placed. The slot for the rod is such that it becomes perpendicular to the dial and becomes parallel to the Earth’s axis. The local time is read by seeing the shadow of the rod on the dial. Similarly, between the September equinox and the March equinox, the dial facing south gets sunlight and the local time can be read in a similar manner.
